Duke Series

Felix Muhrhofer´s DUKE series features uncomplicated constructions out of corroded steel which immediately remind of the simplistic designs of 1920s Oceanliners. The material with it´s surface texture become the defining element, a tradition which is also found in the great Bauhaus designs, to which Muhrhofer also feel a great intellectual closeness. The simple elegance of the frame is complemented by the exalted structure and color of the sunken in Terrazzo top. It is here where the design concepts clash and merge into a new approach. The polished Terrazzo surface joins the velvety steel and the matte tone of the frame highlights the colors and forms of the set in found pebbels.
The tables of the series are in ever which way combinable, coming in different heights and widths but the pieces still manage to shine for themselves.
