Round farmhouse table, 19th century
Authentic farmhouse table from the Montafon region (Vorarlberg), made from natural softwood. The round table top shows a beautiful age patina and characteristic wormholes.
The curved, intersecting base emphasises the handcrafted origin, while the practical pull-out drawer offers additional storage space.
As part of the careful restoration, the wood was carefully sanded down and the old layers of varnish and paint were removed using a paint stripping process. The wood was then gently brightened with hydrogen peroxide to bring out the natural grain. To ensure the object was pest-free, it was treated in a controlled heat chamber to guarantee that it was free of woodworm.
