Yrjö Kukkapuro (1933–2025) is one of Finland's most renowned furniture designers, valued above all for his focus on ergonomics, form, and comfort.
The Karuselli chair was designed around 1964–65 and manufactured by Haimi in Finland.
Its shape is distinctive: a deep shell that envelops the sitter, with a shell made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic and leather upholstery. The feeling is often described as “sinking in.”
